ATO was founded in September of 1865 to help heal the wounds of
the Civil War. Now as then, ATO has been an organization of vision...able
to discern the signs of the times, and using those perceptions
to build and prepare leaders for the future. The continuing goal
of the ATO Vision is to help members become better neighbors,
workers, husbands, fathers and citizens capable of handling the
challenges of a changing world.
As our world becomes smaller and smaller, the advantages of a
well rounded education and the ability to find a job after graduation
becomes even more important. Our Vision for today...100% graduation
and 100% career placement by the year 1999.
Communication focusing on the latest technology keeping you and
the chapter informed and up-to-speed. We have our own private
on-line forum. The ATO Forum was the first in the Greek world
and recently was honored by the Smithsonian Institute for its
cutting edge application.
ATO has a four year continuing education program that provides
valuable information on subjects traditionally not covered in
college classrooms, such as networking, resume building, budgeting,
interpersonal communication, and interview skills. Programs that
are highly refined, professionally packaged and nationally certifiable
so potential employers note the value of an ATO.
Board of Trustees will be nearby to advise and help keep the chapter
on track, ensuring your experience is a solid one.
ATO has nearly 160 chapters across the United States; 164,000
initiates and ranks among the top ten of the 59 national fraternities.
Our Foundation provides more than a quarter million dollars in
annual scholarships to undergraduate and graduate students.
In 1986, ATO founded The LeaderShape Institute, which is considered
the best leadership development program available today for college
students.
In 1992, ATO was the first fraternity to co-sponsor Regional Leadership
Conferences with a sorority.
ATO is an interfraternal leader in implementing and aggressively
enforcing an anti-hazing policy. We do not tolerate hazing - at
all.
Career placement services helping you find that first job. You'll
be part of a career network that will help keep ATO relevant after
you graduate.
ATO knows that good friendships are important. That's why we emphasize
building strong friendships in college. Before you graduate, the
ATOs on your campus will provide Brothers who are very good friends.
But your fraternity experience will last well beyond your college
career. You will have as much fun at reunions and alumni weekends
as you do today. Returning to campus for homecoming will be just
that - coming to your home away from home.
