2004 Occidental Businessperson of the Year Award goes to Todd Garner '88.
Tuesday, November 9, 2004, Jonathan Club, Los Angeles

The Occidental Business Associates was pleased to honor  Todd Garner, seventh annual recipient of the Occidental College  Businessperson of the Year Award.  At the 2004 award banquet Mr. Garner treated attendees to a fantastic multimedia presentation on "The Business of Movie Making."  In this presentation he compared two movies, Hollywood Homicide and XXX, that looked similar in terms of their chances to succeed but had very different outcomes.  Garner explained how Revolution Studios succeeds as a company by keeping overhead low and focusing on producing a limited number of high quality films every year.  The presentation was made ever more lively by exchanges between Garner and guest Cuba Gooding Jr.

Todd Garner is a Partner at Revolution Studios where he is responsible for overseeing all aspects of development and production for the company's motion pictures.  Garner served as an executive producer on the hit films The Forgotten, 13 Going on 30, XXX, Radio, and Anger Management.  He is also the Executive Producer of Click, starring Adam Sandler and XXX: State of the Union, starring Ice Cube, Willem Dafoe, and Sam Jackson, which are currently in production.
